Ceramic To-Go Cup Workshop

In this hands-on workshop at our Bradley Beach, NJ studio, you’ll learn how to handbuild your own ceramic to-go cup tumbler from start to finish. Mike will guide you through the process step by step, sharing techniques, tips, and his love of working with clay.
BYOB encouraged.

During this 2-hour class, each student will create one ceramic to-go cup using slab-building techniques. You’ll shape your cup, add texture and simple customizations, and attach a fitted ceramic lid. This class is beginner-friendly, with plenty of room to make the piece your own.

At the end of class, you’ll select your glaze color from our glaze library, and we’ll take care of the glazing and firing for you.

Please allow 4–6 weeks for completion. Finished pieces will be available for free studio pickup during our normal store hours. Shipping is available upon request for an additional fee.

As with all ceramic work, we like to remind students that the process can be beautifully unpredictable. While we’ll provide guidance and support every step of the way, kiln firing can sometimes bring unexpected results. Small variations, movement, or imperfections are all part of what makes handmade ceramics special.

Come spend a couple of hours slowing down, getting your hands dirty, and creating a functional piece you’ll actually use. You’ll leave with new skills, a deeper appreciation for the ceramic process, and a one-of-a-kind to-go cup made by you.
